We were only there for 3 days so didn’t get to see much. We did take the horse-drawn carriage tour through the historic district, visit Paula Deen’s restaurant, and visited the Prohibition Museum. My favorite was the tour of the historic district. Next time I plan to make more time to see the antebellum architecture and visit the river walk.

Fortunately, my daughter came home from San Francisco and joined us on a long weekend trip to Savannah for my birthday. We ate at wonderful places from Tybee to Thunderbolt to downtown and enjoyed the history and the architecture and everything else about the first city of Georgia.

I’ve done some on this list when I went over to Savannah years back and now it’s 2022, your blog and https://www.visitsavannah.com/events has given me ideas on things to do there this coming weekend! I’m really excited and I want to thank you for these suggestions!

Savannah is a fantastic town for walking and just enjoying where you are! My daughter and I did the night ghost tour which was fun, and enjoyed the Pirate House restaurant. A visit to the Old Pink House for lunch or dinner is a fantastic experience. My husband and I will be eating there the week of Thanksgiving while we are camping in the area.

If I was just visiting, I’d definitely do a trolley tour (off and on all day), walk Forsythe Park, eat at Mrs. Wilkes, and shop Broughton because it’s fun. I chose to host our last pre-covid family reunion there. I really enjoyed being a tourist in a town I was once a resident.

I would highly recommend taking a Trolley Tour. Also, reading the ” Midnight in the Gardens of Good and Evil”. One of favorite was Circa 1776. The food was delicious and service is excellent.

There really is no better place to relax, go fishing and enjoy the sun and food! Whether it’s your first time to go or fifth, this guide is a big help https://visittybee.com/ There’s always something new to discover with each visit!

A GREAT walking city & if you love history, it’s everywhere. Take a tourist trolley ride and get off & on all day. The neighborhood parks , the old buildings.. a stroll through the market at Forsyth Park on Sunday morning, Dining – aside from 700 Forsyth, Paula Deen’s there is lots of southern cooking in well-known neighborhoods .. just ask any locals.

Note – if walking the riverfront, the cobblestones can be brutal so wear sturdy shoes.

Most recently, we ate at the Crystal Beer Parlor. They have the most AMAZING peach cobbler!

And we’re on first name basis with the cats and parrots at the Crab Shack on Tybee Island!

Sorry we missed you when we were there for Columbus Day weekend! We were busy enjoying a personalized tour with Tara’s Haunted Tours!
